We take your privacy seriously. PathfindR collects only what it needs to provide the service, never sells your data, and gives you full control over your information.
1. Who we are
PathfindR ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered goal and career coaching service available at getpathfindr.com. We are operated as a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom.

2. What data we collect
We collect the following personal data when you use PathfindR:
- Account data: Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture
- Goal data: The goals you create, milestones, progress, and coach chat messages
- Payment data: If you subscribe to Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details — only a Stripe customer ID
- Usage data: Basic technical information such as your browser type and device, collected automatically
- CV data: If you upload a CV, the text content is processed to generate your roadmap and then discarded — we do not store your CV
3. How we use your data
We use your data only to:
- Create and manage your PathfindR account
- Generate personalised AI roadmaps and coaching responses
- Save your goals and progress across devices
- Process subscription payments via Stripe
- Send you important service communications (not marketing, unless you opt in)
- Improve PathfindR's performance and features
4. Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
- Contract performance: Processing your account and goal data to deliver the service you signed up for
- Legitimate interests: Improving the service and preventing abuse
- Legal obligation: Retaining certain financial records as required by UK law
5. Who we share your data with
We use the following third-party services to operate PathfindR. Your data may be processed by:
- Google Firebase — account authentication and data storage (Google LLC, US — covered by Standard Contractual Clauses)
- Stripe — payment processing (Stripe Inc, US — covered by Standard Contractual Clauses)
- Groq / Anthropic — AI model providers that process your prompts to generate roadmaps and coaching responses. Prompts may include your goal text and CV content. We use their API under standard data processing terms
- Cloudflare — website hosting and DNS (Cloudflare Inc, US)
- Render — backend server hosting (Render Services Inc, US)
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
6. Data retention
- Your account and goal data is retained while your account is active
- If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by UK financial regulations
- CV content is not stored — it is processed in memory and discarded
7. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data (via Settings → Delete my account)
- Restrict or object to how we process your data
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
8. Cookies
PathfindR uses only essential cookies required for authentication (via Firebase). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as we use only strictly necessary cookies.
9. Children's privacy
PathfindR is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by displaying a notice in the app. Continued use of PathfindR after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
